Sobre mí (español)
Soy Carolina Aravena Costa, nací en Viña del Mar en 1973 y vivo en Santiago desde 1996. Mamá de Catalina y Agustín, trabajo hace 12 años en una compañía de software y en la fotografía desde el año 2013.
La mayoría de mis fotografías están relacionadas con la biodiversidad de Chile y mis viajes tienen siempre la motivación de registrar la naturaleza de los lugares que visito, sobre todo fauna y en especial las aves. He participado en dos libros realizados por el colectivo “Naturaleza Revelada”, con quien además participamos en la exposición en el MUI de Las Condes: Chile “Naturaleza Revelada: Costa Central de Chile, Humedales, Playas y Bosques”.
En el año 2022 fue publicado en la revista Caption Magazine, mi ensayo “Fotografiando mi Chile”. En 2023 en la edición del 5 de marzo en la Revista Domingo, de El Mercurio y en la edición 38 de la Revista Paws Trails Magazine
Comencé a retratar aves en el 2013, ante mi ignorancia sobre el tema y con la idea de comenzar a conocerlas, a partir de mis primeros registros también fui aprendiendo de su importancia en los ciclos de la naturaleza y decidí que mis fotografías debían tener gran calidad y belleza para lograr que, a través de ellas, el público, también pueda conocer y proteger a las especies retratadas. En tiempos donde se hace necesario tener más conciencia sobre el medioambiente, mi objetivo es conseguir que la biodiversidad de nuestro país luzca toda su hermosura a través de mis fotografías y de esa forma lograr que cada vez más personas cuiden nuestro territorio.

I am Carolina Aravena Costa, I was born in Viña del Mar in 1973 and I have lived in Santiago since 1996. Mom of Catalina and Agustín, I have been working in a software company for 12 years and in photography since 2013.
Most of my photographs are related to the biodiversity of Chile and my trips are always motivated to record the nature of the places I visit, especially fauna and birds. I have participated in two books made by the collective “Naturaleza Revelada”, with whom we also participated in the exhibition at the MUI of Las Condes: Chile “Naturaleza Revelada: Central Coast of Chile, Wetlands, Beaches and Forests”.

I began to photograph birds in 2013, given my ignorance on the subject and with the idea of beginning to get to know them, from my first records I also learned about their importance in the cycles of nature and decided that my photographs should be of great quality. and beauty to ensure that, through them, the public can also know and protect the species portrayed. In times where it is necessary to have more awareness about the environment, my goal is to make the biodiversity of our country shine in all its beauty through my photographs and in this way ensure that more and more people take care of our territory.
